The Foundation of Fury

Fury
(placeholder text)

“I would see the world purged of life if it meant my daughter’s safety.”
Do not bring pain to those whom a man holds closest to his heart; for you will know the wrath of a world in him if you do.

1)       The Pride and Joy
2)       The Broken Lock
3)       The Deathly Scream
4)       The Trail of Blood
5)       The War Cry
6)       The Embodiment**
7)       The Demon’s Card*
8)       The Pace of Vengeance
9)       The Snarling Wolf**
10)   The Wicked Roots Wither
11)   The Sorrow it Wrought***
12)   The Cry for Help
13)   The Sworn Oath
14)   The Act of Vengeance
15)   The Heel of a Titan
16)   The Fading Flame
17)   The Slowdown
18)   The Long Walk Home
19)   The Grateful
20)   The Would Be****

The protagonist is so far unnamed.
The antagonist, or antagonists rather, are named: Alistair, Hector, and Gillean. They are all blood-brothers. Alistair is the oldest, and is the schemer, the leader of the brothers. Hector is the middle-brother, he tends to get most of the action done, and fears little. Lastly, Gillean is the youngest and most mentally unhinged, easily manipulated into doing even the most heinous things by his elder brothers. They are all bloodthirsty, crafty, dangerous brothers. And yes, they are Scottish. Now you have another reason to want them all dead!

Kidding...of course.

But they will know pain, for they have crossed the protagonist in the worst way imaginable.

* Newly added. Desired chapter will involve a dog, bred to kill, being used to impede or even destroy the protagonist.
** Swapped with 'The Embodiment' because of pacing and story-placement issues.
*** Newly added. After a new development in his quest to rescue his daughter single-handedly, he begins to despair at his more extreme actions.
**** Newly added. This will be the true ending, an unconventional one at that.

Holiday or two, and long-needed progress on 'Fury'

Happy Holidays, readers (no matter the quantity).

2012 looms, and brings with it an unusually mild winter with surprisingly high temperatures. A turkey feast with a bi-annual meet & greet with some of my family members were par the course for Xmas. The new year is just a couple days away and new classes will become palpable on the ninth of the first month.

I've also made some necessary progress on my current project. It's not a whole lot, but it's a good way to get the ball rolling again. The progress I made includes editing a notably vague few sentences, adding of a chapter to the chapter list (since I felt it didn't describe a desired story element), and completing a subsequent chapter to what I left off.

So with that, I'm signing off. Just hope nobody, for their sake, gets hurt in the celebration of another year's passing.

Purge - Final Edit Stage Update

I've gone through the first three parts, editing whatever I deemed necessary, even revising some areas. For good measure, and to help for quick acquisition in my necessary subsequent edits, I've renamed the file to what it is now titled. Since I intend to adapt it into a concept album at some point, whenever that may be, I'm making two versions of it. The musical adaptation would have a few interlude sections of instrumental composition (no vocals).

Also, I'm considering taking thematic, symbolic photographs for this story, to compliment it as a whole. They'd help establish the mood I'm aiming for. I've a fascination, and thus, a predisposition towards symbolic art of various kinds, and that's precisely what these photographs will be. There will be no faces to be seen in any of these photographs.

Purge - Updated logo

This is a newer prototype. Whether I choose to use it or not is still up for debate...in my head!

A Co-Ed Update: Holidays bring Glory Days; Love Reaches into the Sky; Victim Of Love progress

It's been a while since I touched this blog.

My holidays started over a week ago, and I have less than one week left to spare. Thankfully, it won't be time not-so-well wasted as I am being productive, in more ways than one.

Unfortunately, Victim of Love is on hold for now. In fact, I am considering giving it a "re-try", as the last place left at in the story put me in a bind. The dreaded writer's block. Perhaps I was forcing myself too much as I was writing it but I will definitely give it another go in a day or two, at the soonest. However, at least I wrote something, which I've updated or corrected here and there.

That something is called Love Reaches into the Sky. It's another concept and though it may seem cliche to some who'd read it, the theme I aimed for was that even those who have strength of character can be tested by the Goliath that is love. It's not story-driven, at least in a pure sense, which gives it more flexibility.

I have not given up on Victim Of Love, which I hope will turn out to be something that readers will remember. I want to make an impression with it, but I don't want to be pretentious about it. When you write a story, you often get side-tracked by writer's block if you write "organically", or as it comes in other words.

Other than that, I won't be all that active with this blog until I get another break from college. In terms of college itself, I just hope I didn't fail that Cisco class, which was "taught" by a total wanker who can't teach to save his life (he even admitted to the class that he wasn't an instructor...). At least give me a damn 60 percent so I can move on without worrying about the school letting me go from one incomplete grade. Assholes.

Victim Of Love - Update

I've written the first two lyrics just now, all within ten minutes. This has only happened a few times since I've made a hobby of writing song lyrics. I can already see how it would be perceived as dark, given the nature of the character I am still developing. The effort should pay off, big time.

Observatory Rant On Blogger Update (UPDATED)

It's still ugly.

This shit needs a lot of improvement, but I've made some amends on my own just moments ago. I've adjusted the size of the right sidebar to accommodate the last.fm widget, for one. Links are also better on the eyes, at least for me anyway :P. Also, any album reviews with an image of the album cover(s) will be limited to 200px by width & height, anything higher than that won't be accepted. The background repeats, but I don't want it that way because it looks ridiculous. I want it to scroll with the users' input. Oh well. Progress has been made at least. Google should have put some oversight on this template designer. I forgot to mention before that the Designer preview section doesn't even work! Not for me at least. And maybe it isn't compatible with Firefox, simply enough. I don't know nor do I care, because I'm fine with viewing any changes by clicking View Blog.
